Dating

Did I ever think my son would date?  Of course, I did. I think as a mother though, it's really hard to let this one go.  It's almost certain that with this new first love will come first heartbreak.  Although, this first DATE might not lead to his first love, it's still very hard to let it happen.  The boy seems nice.  Max lights up when he talks about him.  He's going to the boy's choir concert and then for coffee afterward.  The last of the nest is ready to fly away!

Again, I am marveled at the amazing friends we have met along this journey.  One for sure has been like a second mother to my son.  She lights up when she talks about him.  What a perfect person then to have nominate, and be interviewed to talk about him to the Colin Higgins foundation.  What an honor of course to be nominated.  I'm excited to announce he has made it to the finalists.  12 finalists out of hundreds.  He was interviewed yesterday, so we are now on pins and needles waiting for the word that he IS one of the three winners.  Then we are off to NY the end of June!  NY pride here we come!

Update:  Despite the positive affirmations we didn't win.  This year it seemed all the winners were great LGBT youth, but also immigrants.  

Australia

The power of spreading our story.  We've been approached by a journalist in Australia who has heard our story.  I believe from this blog, but even still, half way around the world and our story is out there.  She plans to come here to film Max for a documentary to be shown there.  It will be soon, early April for the filming. 

On another good note.  Our close friends and supporters have nominated Max for a BIG award!  We will find out in early April if he's chosen for a finalist.  If he wins, he gets money for college, in addition to that we will be traveling to NY for the award ceremony and NY pride, in June!!! 

Although, we don't at all do this for the recognition, ....it's all about getting on ELLEN!!!

And with me starting a new journey with work starting April 1st, let GREAT things happen in April! 

OH NO not again

So a lot of changes happening for me at work.  Just when I decided it was time to relax.  We have all our steps complete, all paperwork in place for his future.  He's almost at full dose on his T (yep we skipped a couple increases related to no need, levels were high enough).  I finally, found a Dr. at PCH that works well with us.  He even emails me lab results through interoffice email.  Our last appointment will be this coming February.  Why would I leave??  Changes coming for Phoenix Children's NICU

This is where I work.  My job is secure so that's the great news.  However, my job will not be with Banner Health.  I know my current Dr. will not be covered, and the next best alternative for Pediatric Endo's in town isn't either.  So I will be on the search again!!!  Big Sigh!
